CHORAL AND VOCAL

 

 

Please read the General Rules and Division-Specific Rules carefully to avoid disqualification.

All competitors are required to frequently check the Eisteddfod website for the latest updates.

 

 

DIVISION 01 – CHORAL

 

  1. Own choice of music and one song only unless otherwise indicated.
  2. Recorded accompaniments are not permitted.
  3. Singers may only compete in one group per Section.
  4. All Secondary Choral Sections may consist of students from Years 7 to 12 (inclusive).  
  5. Choralography is not permitted unless otherwise indicated in the section rules.  Choralography in the Toowoomba Eisteddfod will be limited to combining expressive body movement with choral singing.  Only the choral singing will be adjudicated.
  6. Body Percussion may be performed as an accompaniment to the choral performance (where it is indicated by the composer/arranger in the score), except in sections where no body movement is permitted.

May be sung in English or the original language. 5. Transpositions and arrangements allowed provided the melody and words are authentic. 6. Choralography optional but adjudicated as a choral piece.
