Shepparton Young Instrumentalists Award


Conditions of Entry:


The Shepparton Competition Society Inc., is delighted to partner with the Australian National Piano Awards (ANPA) to present the SYIA / ANPA Piano Masterclass 2017.

·         Entries are limited and are available on a first entered first in basis.

·         The Masterclass is open to piano students from AMEB Grade 3 and above with time limits as follows:

·         Grades 3-5:               15 minutes per student

·         Grade 6 & Above:    20 minutes per student

 

·        Students are to present only one piece at the masterclass. Students must NOT present works that are fully prepared or that they are presenting the next day at the SYIA competition.

If they do, then they risk disqualification from the Sunday class in which they perform the same piece.

 

·        The purpose of the masterclass is to not only have a performance opportunity, but to receive feedback on and assistance with a semi-prepared work.

Feedback may be given on technical or interpretative aspects of the work. It is expected that the piece presented will be fluent but not polished.
