VOCAL RULES for Lismore Eisteddfod 2025

  1. The Adjudicator needs a copy of the sheet music for each section. Hand in to ‘check-in’ table on your arrival.

 

  1. When entering duos and trios the name of each competitor must be given.

 

  1. All 7 and 8 year old vocal competitors are to use a clipon microphone to assist

their vocal projection. Microphones will be available.

 

  1. Competitors not to accompany themselves in any vocal section. Please contact the Vocal and Instrumental Convenor, 5 weeks prior to the eisteddfod to organise an accompanist and practise, if required.

 

  1. CD and USB Backing tracks may be used in all vocal sections. In popular sections only instrumental and no vocals are permitted on the backing track.

 

  1. Only the Character Solo Section is to be costumed and acted.

 

  1. Please select songs that are age appropriate.

01 Roger Boland Memorial Trophy for Lieder Solo     16 years & over

Vocalist may choose to perform the work of any Lieder composer including those in the AMEB or Trinity syllabus for 2020. Full piano accompaniment is required but accompanist is not adjudicated.

Item must be from opera or operetta repertoire. No musical, film or oratorio item is acceptable.

03A Senior Vocal Championship Solo     16 years & over

TO QUALIFY THE COMPETITOR MUST (a) enter the 3 compulsory sections - 3A, 5, 23, 40 (b) obtain 80 marks or more in each qualifying section (c) Piano or CD accompaniment required. (d) Songs from Pop Charts are not acceptable in championship sections.
