SPECIAL CONDITIONS

To be read in conjunction with General Conditions.

1: Competitors are not to repeat an item in another section. (See General Rule 1.4).

2: Competitors can only compete in two sections where age limits apply. The same competitor may also compete in the Open sections.

3: Competitors may play unaccompanied, provide their own accompanist or use a backing track (see Rule 4). Royal South Street Society maintains a list of accompanists who may be able to assist. Please contact the office for further details.

4: Backing tracks should be in MP3 format on a USB. Ensure the backing is good quality and it is suggested that you also bring the backing track on a CD as a back-up.

5: All competitors must perform pieces that can be completed within the time limit specified for the section. If the time limit is exceeded by 35 seconds or more, the performance must cease and the adjudicator, at their sole discretion, may decide not to critique the competitor.

6: Age limit will be deemed as at the 1st January of the current year.
