DEBRA ANDREACCHIO is a studio piano teacher of over forty years. After graduating with an Honours Degree in Piano Performance, she extended her studies with piano pedagogue, Eleonora Sivan. Debra has taught piano in private colleges and public schools, as well as her own studio. Currently, she is completing her PhD Candidature in Piano Pedagogy at The University of Adelaide.

During her career, Debra has given lecture-demonstrations at conferences that focus on piano teaching and research. These include at Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conferences, and Western Australian Piano Pedagogy Conventions. Internationally, Debra has presented at the World Piano Teachers Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia, and at the Research in Music Education Conference in the United Kingdom. In addition, she has delivered scholarly papers at National Conferences of the Musicological Society of Australia.

Both in South Australia and nationally, Debra has contributed to the broader music community. She is Deputy Chair of The Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference Association, and was Deputy Chair of their conference in Adelaide in 2017: ‘Keys to a Changing World’. Debra is a piano examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and has adjudicated music competitions for the Adelaide Eisteddfod Society (AES), the Music Teachers Association of South Australia (MTASA), and the 5mbs Young Virtuoso Award SA Final. She was President of MTASA from 2009 to 2013, during which time she convened significant 3-day Summer Schools for professional development of studio teachers: ‘Life, Time, Music’, and ‘Immortality of Romanticism: Celebrating the anniversaries of Chopin, Schumann and Liszt’.

Debra’s students regularly give recitals for noted Adelaide organizations, including ‘Tuesday on Flinders’ at the Flinders St. Baptist Church, Recitals Australia at Pilgrim Church, and the Lyceum Club. Her students have performed as guest artists at the Public Schools Music Festival, and concerts with the Metropolitan Male Choir and Lobethal Choir, as well as at AMEB Showcase Concerts. Her students have been awarded prizes from the AMEB (The David Merchant Prize, The George Pearce Memorial Prize, and many Grade Prizes), the AES (the Wilf Mader Memorial Medallion, the Dulcie Holland Medallion, the Miriam Hyde Memorial Medallion, and Convenor’s Award), the MTASA (the Reimann-Robinson Scholarship, the Norman Sellick Award, and the Miriam Hyde Award), and been winner of the Yamaha Competition, and scholarships offered by the Male Metropolitan Choir and the Lobethal Choir. Several students have performed as finalists in the 5mbs Young Virtuoso Awards. Debra’s students have regularly been awarded music scholarships to Private Colleges, and Public School Special Interest Music Centres.

Debra remains passionate about teaching and encouraging the next generation - students, teachers, examiners, and parents alike - to continue to develop their love of music.

Adelaide-based pianist Janice Tan graduated from the University of Adelaide with an Honours degree in music, majoring in Classical Piano Performance under renowned pianists and teachers Lucinda Collins and David Lockett AM.

Janice has pursued a rich and diverse career as pianist, teacher, examiner, adjudicator, researcher, and administrator. She has a reputation as an outstanding pianist with natural expression and sensitivity who always reveals picturesque details in her musical story-telling. Janice is one of the most popular and acclaimed artists in Australia, performing Fever Candlelight concerts and recital series at an international level with some of the world's leading musicians.

Her passion for piano performing and extensive experience in music education has transformed her into an inspirational piano teacher who always gives students her very best. Janice and her students produced outstanding results in various piano competitions and in the AMEB exams resulting in her students receiving many music scholarships in private schools (Pembroke, St Ignatius, St Andrews, St Peters, Prince Alfred College, Pulteney Grammar School), and being awarded by AMEB earning the prestigious opportunities to perform at the AMEB Awards Ceremony and Showcase in Elder Hall.

Janice’s passion for community and charity work has also given her the title of the national nominee of Young Leader Medal, Pride of Australia 2009, and national finalist of Fair Go Medal, Pride of Australia 2010.

Closing Date & Time for Competitors to Enter:

Thursday 14th April 2022, 5 pm (Adelaide Time)

The closing date and time for all entries is 5 pm Adelaide Time (Central Australian Time), Thursday April 14th, the last day of the first school term. Late entries/late payments will not be accepted.

It is important that entrants read the rules for each section and the general rules of the competitions: for example General Rule no. 10 states that no competitor shall perform the same item in more than one section unless this is specifically noted in the syllabus as being allowed for that section. General Rule no. 12 states that a competitor winning a first prize in the Adelaide Eisteddfod in the previous two years may not present the same winning item/s of music in this year's eisteddfod.

Entries and Fees
All entries are to be made and paid on-line via www.stardom.com.au using the Stardom payment system.
Each competitor pays a fee per section entered, as printed on the computer-generated invoice, plus a single administration fee appearing on the invoice after all required sections have been entered.

*Where age limits apply the age of a competitor as at 30^th June 2022 will be used to determine entry, unless otherwise stated.

* If there are insufficient entries for a section it may either be cancelled or a single prize awarded according to merit.

* A timekeeper will be appointed and when the time limits stipulated are not adhered to then no mark, placing or prize is awarded to that competitor. However the written adjudicator feedback will be provided.

* Where an aggregate prize is awarded the following scoring system will be used: 1st Prize 5 points; 2nd Prize 3 points; 3rd Prize 2 points; 4th Prize and/or honourable mention 1 point.
