Bathurst Eisteddfod Syllabus B - Online Video Submission
Online Video Submission Entry Rules:
1. Entries are to be completed online by 20th August, 2020, via the Stardom Online Management System "Stardom" at www.stardom.com.au

3. An entrant’s age is determined as of 30th September in the year of entry.
3. Stardom will provide you with an entry confirmation upon completion of the entry. Responsibility for correct entry rests with the entrant.
4. All online video submission entries will be $10.00 per Entry. Special new "Tik Tok sections" entry fee will be $5.00 All entry fees are non-refundable.
5. All 2020 Bathurst Eisteddfod entries are to be paid by Credit Card.
6. A program will be published on the website following closing date for video submissions. This will list all competitors in each section by first name, last name, and town/city of residence.
7. Pre-recorded video submissions will form each competitor’s entry into the Online Eisteddfod. Video submissions, will need to be uploaded to the Google Drive link provided by the Bathurst Eisteddfod no later than 11.59pm 25th September. Instructions will be provided via email prior to 1st August 2020, on the process of uploading your video.
8. All entries for Video Submission must be recorded between the dates of 1st August - 25th September 2020.
9. All performances submitted must have been made in “one take” with no editing. One camera only for filming.
10. Multiple entries per section is allowed per competitor - as long as they perform a different genre/ on a different instrument or perform a different genre of dance. Entry Fees will apply to every entry submitted.
11.Time limits listed in the Syllabus must be adhered to.
12. Unless explicitly declined on the registration form declaration, all competitors agree to have their performance video, first name and town/city of residence posted on the Bathurst Eisteddfod Society Website and/or Social Media Pages. This is primarily to be used for learning opportunities for other entrants and promotion of winners and notable performances across the Eisteddfod.
Rules and Guideline for Videoing your Performance.
1. Piano section videos should be taken from the treble, right-hand end of the piano, with full view of the performer.
2. Vocal and Instrumental videos should be taken from directly in front and with full view of the performer.
3. Dance videos need to be recorded directly in front/ middle of Performance area from a stationary position. All dance tracks need to audible in the video recording. It's up to competitors to ensure the music is able to be heard.
3. Instrumental sections - live accompaniment or backing track is permitted for all vocal and instrumental performances. Reminder backing tracks are to contain NO vocal lines.
4. Drama and Poetry sections - videos should be taken from directly in front and with full view of the performer.
5. All Bands. Choir, Ensemble or Dance troupe videos - need to videoed from a stationary position, front/middle of performance area. Encourage videoing from a slightly elevated position to facilitate viewing all performers.
6. All performances submitted must have been made in “one take” with no editing. One camera only for filming.
7. Music or Poems for Adjudicator – each performer is required to use an original copy of their work if required when performing.
8. At the commencement of every video the performer should:
- introduce themselves / say the town where they're from / the section number and name and the name of the work they're reciting, piece they're playing or singing or the name of the song they're dancing.
Example:
"My name is Mary Smith. I'm from Bathurst. I'm competing in Section 950 10yrs and under Vocal and I'll be singing "Mary had a little Lamb".
Late Entries.
No late video submissions will be accepted.
The Bathurst Eisteddfod reserves the right to :
1. Refuse an entry.
2. ALL sections are run at the discretion of the Committee - The Bathurst Eisteddfod Society Committee reserves the right to combine/split or remove any sections due to entries where required.
3. Request proof of age of an entrant.
4. Appoint a substitute adjudicator.
5. Name competitors and upload notable performances to the Bathurst Eisteddfod Website, Facebook and Instagram.
6. The organising committee reserve the right to limit the number of competitors in any one section.
7. Recognising the challenging circumstances presented by COVID-19, and recent drought and bushfire conditions, those experiencing financial hardship may be eligible for special dispensation – entrants should contact the Convenors at bathursteisteddfod.p@gmail.com. This will remain confidential.
Performance Rules
1. All competitors compete AT THEIR OWN RISK. The Eisteddfod Society takes no responsibility for any accident or personal loss or injury, however caused.
2. Professionals - This Eisteddfod is not open to professionals. A professional is defined as a person who earns the major part of their income from the practice of the art or who uses the art as a primary means of livelihood.
3. Dress Code - All performers are strongly encouraged to wear appropriate attire and observe appropriate performance etiquette during each video submission. Care must be taken with Lyrics and gesture.
4. Adjudicators may reserve the right to not adjudicate performers presenting unsuitable material.
5. No competitor shall perform the same item in more than one section.
Adjudicator / Copies and Copyright
1. The 2020 Bathurst Eisteddfod Syllabus B - Online Video Submission does not require competitors to submit paper copies of either their song or poem for the adjudicator. However, when videoing the performance, competitors if using sheet music, are required to use the Original.
2. The Bathurst Eisteddfod holds an Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA) licence.
3. Music entrants must perform from original sheet, book or album music when videoing takes place.
4. Competitors must not have been a pupil/pupils of the adjudicator during the six months prior to the Eisteddfod. Competitors may not be a family member of the adjudicator.
5. Any communication with the adjudicator either by entrants, teachers or other interested parties is strictly prohibited. The Committee reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for breach of this rule.
Adjudication
1. The adjudicator’s decision is final. No discussion will be entered into.
2. Adjudication results will be published on the Bathurst Eisteddfod Society website and social media pages by mid October 2020.
3. Feedback and comments from the Adjudicator will be distributed to individual entrants via the email provided at the time of entry.
4. Competitors must not have been a pupil/pupils of the adjudicator during the six months prior to the Eisteddfod. Competitors may not be a family member of the adjudicator.
5. Any communication with the adjudicator either by entrants, teachers or other interested parties is strictly prohibited.
6. The Adjudicator will award certificates of proficiency to competitors: Gold, Silver, Bronze level and Platinum for Excellence.
These will be emailed to competitors for them to print.
7. Online Video submission entries are considered a celebration of performing and all adjudication and remarks will be about the performance itself.
8. Both the Bathurst Eisteddfod and all Adjudicators involved understand that Video Submission is not ideal. However, in the interest of providing performance opportunities for all, we are hoping competitors will embrace this "temporary" change to the Bathurst Eisteddfod and "Dance, Recite, Play and Perform like no one's watching".

Eisteddfod Dates 2020: (Please note these are proposed dates and may be subject to change)
Syllabus A - "Face to Face" will commence Saturday 22nd August - Sunday 6th September.
Syllabus B - "Online Video Submission" - Entries will be taken 10th July to 20th August. The adjudication period will be up until mid Oct 2020.
