BAND CONTEST CONDITIONS
- RULES: All rules of the Victorian Bands League (VBL) will be strictly enforced.The latest version of the VBL contest rules are available on the VBL website at http://www.vbl.org.au/publication/rules . It is a condition of entry that all competitors agree to be bound by these rules.
- REGISTRATION OF BANDS: All bands that wish to compete at the Bendigo Eisteddfod must be registered with the VBL or another recognised Australasian Band Association.
- REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS: All individuals that compete on stage at the Bendigo Eisteddfod must be registered with the VBL by Friday 10th May 2019 to compete in this contest. Go to https://www.vbl.org.au/membership for more information on registering individuals.
- CONTEST DECLARATIONS & PLAYER LISTS: A signed Contest Declaration and Player List form must be submitted to the VBL by Friday 10th May 2019. These forms can be found at https://www.vbl.org.au/publications/forms-fees .
- ADJUDICATOR’S SCORES: One copy of each item to be played must be forwarded directly to the Victorian Bands League, 2/157 Hyde St., Yarraville. 3013 by Friday 3rd May 2019.
- All bars to be numbered.
- No Band identification and no distinguishing marks are permitted.
- Bands will be permitted to submit photocopies. Photocopies will not be returned to the Band to comply with copyright rules.
- PROGRAM NOTES & STAGE PLANS: Each Band must provide a synopsis of their program for the Chairperson to use when announcing the Band.
- A stage plan to assist with the placing of the band on stage should also be provided.
These items should both be sent to the Music Coordinator at: musicbendigo@bigpond.com by Friday 17th May 2019.
- TIME LIMITS: Maximum combined playing time must not exceed twenty-five minutes.
- EXCEEDING TIME LIMITS: A band exceeding the time limit shall have ten (10) points deducted from their aggregate score.
- BANDS PLAYING IN OTHER GRADES: Open grade bands may compete in the grade immediately above their current grade provided that the band also competes in its own grade at the same contest.
- Junior grade bands may also compete in Open D Grade, provided that the band also competes in its own grade at the same contest.
- REPETITION OF ITEMS: No band is permitted to play an item in more than one section at any contest.
- ENTRIES: Entries must be made online at http://www.stardom.com.au or by clicking on the Stardom link on the Bendigo Competitions website: http://www.bendigocomps.org.au . Correct entry fees must accompany each entry, which must include title/s for all Music being performed.
