Other information
Competitors are asked to enter the repertoire they are performing including the title of each piece and the composer directly into Stardom at least 7 days prior to the competition as stated in Rule 22 in the General Rules.
This speeds up the booking in process on the day and reduces the potential for errors.
NOTE: Competitors may enter the same section on more than one woodwind instrument.
NOTE: Other opportunities for brass players are available in the Adelaide Eisteddfod Concerto and the Wind and Brass Recital.
The Geffrey Hackett-Jones Double Reed Award
An encouragement award of $50 will be awarded to a double reed player who performs in the Woodwind Division at the Special Awards Concert held at the end of the competition season.
This is supported by the Geoffrey Hackett-Jones Double Reed Trust.
The Gabor Reeves Woodwind Medallion will be presented to a woodwind player for excellence in performance at the Special Awards Concert held at the end of the competition season.
Gabor Reeves was a clarinettist in the Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras before coming to Adelaide in 1964 to teach at the Elder Conservatorium.
He became a foundation member of the University of Adelaide Wind Quintet. He left Adelaide in 1974 to teach at the Sydney Conservatorium.
Gabor Reeves died in May 2008.
