RULES & CONDITIONS
1. CHOIRS AND GROUPS
- Choir risers are placed in a static position.
- Choir risers provided: 3 sets of 4 levels (plus floor)
- School choirs or Groups shall consist solely of current bona-fide students of that school.
- Competitors must not enter in more than one Group or choir in the same Section.
2. DUOS AND TRIOS
a. One of the competitors may be under the Age Limit but may not enter BOTH the higher Age Section and their own Age Section, excluding Duologue.
b. If any competitor is prevented from performing due to the withdrawal of one member, a substitute may be used. The Backstage Marshall must be notified of the change prior to the commencement of the Section
3. CONDUCTING - Conducting is restricted to Choral Speaking Sections.
4. MATERIALS FOR DRAMA
The material for Drama Sections is to be selected with a view to the age of the competitors and with the realisation that there will be children in the audience.
5. SYNOPSIS (Optional)
If competitors wish for a short synopsis to be read by the Chairman, a typed copy must be handed to the Registrar prior to the commencement of the Section.
This must be kept to a maximum of 25 words and typed in block letters in double line spacing
6. MICROPHONE No microphone will be allowed in the s Speech & Drama Sections to amplify vocal tone.
7. OWN CHOICE SCRIPTS - Please refer to General Rules Number 3
8. PREPARATION TIME
Preparation time in Extemporised Sections will equal stated performance Time Limit.
9. PROMPTING With the exception of Group Drama, there will be no prompting except from Adjudicator. Penalties will apply at the discretion of the Adjudicator.
10. PROPS - No costume, dramatisation or props will be allowed in any Recitation Section.

- 1 x Table, 1x Chair – will be provided
11. STAGE - Blackouts and special lighting effects will not be allowed.
- Performance must remain on stage, upstage of the proscenium.
- Once a competitor has registered with the Backstage Marshal, they are required to remain backstage until the Section has been adjudicated.
- Curtains are allowed for Drama Sections only.
12. TIME LIMITS Time Limits will be strictly adhered to as outlined in General Rule 2.
13. VENUE ETIQUETTE NO loud yelling or calling out from the auditorium OR back stage area.
