RULES & CONDITIONS
1. IMPROMPTU READING 1 minute Preparation time. Competitors are marshalled in a room while 1 prepares in another room & 1 is performing.
2. PREPARED PUBLIC SPEAKING A bell will be rung 30 seconds before the set tie limit. If the competitor exceeds the limit, a second bell will be rung & no mark awarded..
3. MICROPHONE No microphone will be allowed.
4. PROMPTING No prompting except from Adjudicator. Penalties will apply at the discretion of the Adjudicator. Palm cards may be used for Prepared Public Speaking.
5. COSTUMES & PROPS No costumes or props.
6. PERFORMANCE Once a competitor has registered with the Marshal, they are required to remain until the Section has been adjudicated.
7. VENUE ETIQUETTE Applause only. NO barracking, whistling or calling out from the auditorium OR back stage.
RECITATION/SPEECH AWARDS
Bursary: Awarded to the Townsville competitor age 15 to 18 whom, in the opinion of the Adjudicator, shows the most potential.
To be eligible, competitors must enter and compete in the following Sections: Championship Recitation and any one of the following Sections: Prepared Public Speaking or Impromptu Reading
