VBL  SOLO/PARTY COMPETITION 2019

 CONTEST CONDITIONS

1. RULES: All rules of the Victorian Bands League (VBL) will be strictly enforced. The latest version of the VBL constest rules are available on the VBL website at https://www.vbl.org.au/publications/rules . It is a condition of entry that all competitors agree to be bound by these rules.
   
2. ELIGIBILITY: All competitors must be registered with the VBL by Friday 10th May 2019 to compete in this contest. Go to https://www.vbl.org.au/about/membership for more information on registering with the VBL.
   
3. MUSIC AND TIME LIMITS: All music is the performer's own choice. Time limits will be strictly enforced.
4. EXCEEDING TIME LIMITS: A competitor exceeding the time limit shall have ten (10) points deducted from their aggregate score.
   
5. REPETITION OF ITEMS: No competitor will be permitted to play an item in more than one section at any contest.
6. A competitor who has won an item in the past thirteen (13) months at any Recognised Australasian Band Association contest (“previous contest”) shall not play the same item at the Bendigo Eisteddfod unless the commencement of the contest falls within twenty eight (28) days of the conclusion of the previous contest.
   
7. Competitors shall not compete more than once in each section.
8. AGE LIMITS: Where age limits apply, the age of the competitor is determined from their age on the 1st January 2019.  e.g. A junior is a player who is under 19 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the contest.
   
9. ADJUDICATOR'S SCORES: Each competitor must supply a copy of his/her score for the Adjudicator.
   - All bars must be numbered
   - Competitors must supply a photocopy for the Adjudicator. Photocopies will not be returned to the competitor to comply with copyright rules.
   - The copy for the Accompanist should be an original.
10. ACCOMPANIST: Competitors may use their own accompanist, use the Official Accompanist or perform on unaccompanied.
11. Music for the Official Accompanist must be forwarded to him/her at least 14 days prior to the competition. The Official Accompanist reserves the right to refuse to play for the competitor if the music is handed in on the day of the competition.
12. If a competitor requires the Official Accompanist for rehearsal, prior to the competition, please contact him/her to make arrangements.
13. Dependent on the number of entries, a section may be deleted, divided or combined with another.
14. ENTRIES: Entries must be made online at http://www.stardom.com.au or by clicking on the Stardom link on the Bendigo Competitions website: http://www.bendigocomps.org.au . Correct entry fees must accompany each entry, which must include title/s for all Music being performed.
