CHECK FOR CHANGES

Routines, costumes and music selections must be Age appropriate.

1 TIME LIMITS will be strictly adhered to.

Timing starts with the first movement in character, first dance step or when music commences, whichever comes first. Timing finishes with the last note of the music, movement in character or dance movement whichever is the latter.

NOTE - Tags will be timed. See General Rule 2.

2 SECTION ENTRY

a. Competitors may only enter in one Dance Duo Section.

b. Competitors may only enter one Tap Duo Section.

c. In the case of Duets, Duos, Trios and Quartets, one of the competitors may be under the Age Limit, but may only enter for one Section.

3 BACK STAGE AREA

One teacher per school only. No parents. Out of town competitors with no available teacher must notify the Committee

a. Once competitors have registered with the backstage marshal they are required to remain backstage until the Section has been adjudicated. except for groups. 2 representatives from each group to remain for adjudication.

b. See General Rule 6.

4 PERFORMANCE

a. The same dance must not be performed more than once by the same competitor or Group during the currency of any one Eisteddfod

b. With the exception of Tiny Tots, competitors coached or prompted will receive a written report and a mark, but will not be placed.

5 BACKING TRACKS Upload to Stardom with USB back-up. See General Rule 5.

6 CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF THE CURTAIN No curtains will be allowed in the following Sections

Classical Solos/Tap Solos/Tap Duo/National Solos/Modern Solos including Championships

Curtains will be allowed at the beginning and end, if required, for the following Sections:

Tiny Tots, Demi-Character Solos, Song & Dance Solos, Duos excluding Tap, Trios, Quartets, Groups

Marshall must be notified prior to the start of the Section regarding requirements for curtains

7. PROPS

Please keep Props to a minimum. See General Rule 8. Please notify the marshal prior to the start of the Section regarding requirements with props.

8. TITLES AND STORIES -not compulsory

a If competitors wish their stories to be read, a typed copy must be handed to the Marshall prior to the commencement of the Section. Maximum 25 words . Typed in block letters in double line spacing

b. Titles only for National Dances

9. REHEARSAL ON STAGE

a. Available for Tiny Tots only (by arrangement with the Eisteddfod Committee).

b. First time competitors may request a familiarisation tour of the stage area (by arrangement with the Committee).

10 DRESSING ROOMS Available for solos & small groups only

Competitors to arrive made-up & costumed, as far as possible.

1 Dressing Room will be allocated per school.

1 teacher per school allowed. No parents. Out of Town competitors with no available teacher must notify the Committee.

Teachers will be responsible for behaviour & ensuring no cross-contamination.

11 VENUE ETIQUETTE NO barracking, whistling or calling out from the auditorium OR backstage.
