Choral Competition 2024

- This section is open to junior primary school choirs only. (Grade prep to Grade 4 inclusive) - Choirs to consist of not less than 5 voices and not more than 50. - Two songs to be performed. - One piece Harmony - One piece Unison - Time Limit: 8 Minutes - First $100 donated by The Young Trust & Plaque; Second & Third Plaques.

- This section is open to Secondary school choirs only. - Choirs to consist of not less than 5 voices. - Two songs to be performed. Harmony optional. - Time Limit: 8 Minutes - Play for performance and Critique only. (Participation Certificate will be awarded to each performer).

- This section is designed to encourage participation of choirs, other than school choirs, which sing for the joy of choral singing. Choirs should consist of no less than eight members and this is an open age event. Program to consist of two songs of own selection and should include at least one part song. - Time Limit: 8 Minutes - First $200, Second & Third Plaques

- The Young Prize is in memory of our esteemed benefactors and dedicated choristers, the Late Mr WH Keith Young and the Late Mrs Amy Young OAM. - Open to any combination of voices – Minimum of 6 voices / Maximum 55. - Choirs may repeat a single item performed in another section. - Choirs to present a well-balanced program of no less than three pieces that includes part singing (at least 4-part harmony in one song and 2 or 3 parts in the others) in a contrast of styles and tempo. - At least one selection of the program to be by an Australian composer. - Sacred part song – 3 or more parts - Part song – 4 parts - Part song – Own choice item unaccompanied. - Accompaniment - Up to three single acoustic instruments. - Prizes courtesy of the Young Trust. - Time Limit: 12 Minutes. - First $200 & Perpetual Trophy; Second $100 plus Plaque; Third $50 plus plaque.

Choirs to consist of no less than 5 voices and not more than 50. - Each choir to present a program of 3 songs which must include the following. a) Unison song; accompanied. b) Part song c) A Cappella - At least one selection of the program to be by an Australian composer. - Time Limit: 10 Minutes - First $100 & Plaque; Second $75 & Plaque & Third $25 & Plaque.
