SPECIAL CONDITIONS Please read in conjunction with General Conditions 2022
- No prompting or assistance of any kind may be rendered during the performance of any item, except by the adjudicator or a person appointed by Royal South Street.
- Competitors and teachers must abide by copyright fair usage and must appropriately acknowledge authors.
- Time Limit ~ A warning bell will be rung when the time limit is reached and again 15 seconds later at which time the competitor must finish and leave the stage. The Competitor will be adjudicated to that point only.
- Competitors are requested to wear rehearsal blacks.
- In all sections a copy of the selection or reading must be presented for the adjudicator; impromptu & prepared speech, and devised sections excluded.
- Black rostrum blocks are available for use.
- For sections 614, 625, 637, 663, 680, 681 & 682 each group can enter only once in each section. However, individual competitors may be members of a maximum of two groups.
- Competitors are welcome to perform their own work (unless the section states that the work of a specific author must be performed). However, the competitor’s writing does not form part of the Adjudication.
- Age limit will be deemed as at the 1st January of the current year.

| | Explanation: The adjudicator provides the location and one occupation. The group must begin their improvisation immediately, with one competitor adopting the occupation, and the group using the location appropriately. The improvisation can last no longer than 1 Minute and must conclude with the 'death' of one member only of the group. Groups will be adjudicated on their timing, interaction, creativity and ensemble work.
Up to four people per group.

| | Explanation: Each team enters the stage and draws a topic from a hat. Topics may include locations (E.g. 'At the beach'), a line of dialogue (E.g. 'I told you not to'), a situation (E.g. 'A bank robbery'), or similar.
Groups must begin immediately to establish and develop a scene. Groups will be adjudicated on their interaction, particularly their ability to 'offer' and 'accept offers', imagination and ensemble work. Four people per group. A warning bell will be rung at 2 minutes.

| | Explanation: Each team enters the stage and draws a topic from a hat. Topics may include locations (E.g. 'At the beach'), a line of dialogue (E.g. 'I told you not to'), a situation (E.g. 'A bank robbery'), or similar.
Groups must begin immediately to establish and develop a scene. Groups will be adjudicated on their interaction, particularly their ability to 'offer' and 'accept offers', imagination and ensemble work. Four people per group. A warning bell will be rung at 2 minutes.
