Rules and Regulations


ENTRIES

All responsibility is placed with the person submitting the entry to complete it correctly. Eisteddfod Committee takes all due care with entries, but no responsibility will be taken for placing competitor in wrong sections, if incorrect information is provided by the entrant.

ALL ENQUIRIES FOR ENTRIES, PROGRAM AND WITHDRAWALS, must be emailed:

  • Entries and payment will be via the stardom Competition Online Entry System
  • Access to this can be made via link on our Biloela Eisteddfod Website, or

No late entries Under Any Circumstances.

Refunds:  Entry money will not be refunded for withdrawals or sickness.

  • Programs may be pre-purchased with online entries for $9.00 including postage.

Admission Charges

  • Competitors may enter Free Only during the session of the Eisteddfod in which they are performing.
  • All members of the public who are non- competitors (Adults, Pensioner and Students) are required to pay the door.

Video, Photography, Mobile Phones, Electronic Devices

By Submitting your entry you have automatically granted Biloela Eisteddfod Society permission to broadcast, telecast or photograph any performer in the Eisteddfod.

  • Biloela Eisteddfod would appreciate 14 days notice prior to commencement of Eisteddfod in writing of any performer cannot not be photographed or videoed for publicity purposes
  • Biloela Eisteddfod does not allow photos, videoing of performers whilst they are on stage.  
  • Biloela Eisteddfod Society reserves the rights to ask a person/s to leave and may or may not be permitted back in to the auditorium until after the section if any mobile phone or any electronic device is being used.


Blue Cards

All members of the Eisteddfod committee and eisteddfod volunteers working backstage, must have a current Blue Card.

 

Teachers/Parents/Competitor

 

  • Age proof of date must be available if requested
  • Please ensure you arrive on time for your Performance and make yourself known to the Marshall for mark off. Disqualification may happen if your section has started, unless you have made contact beforehand fore warning committee of lateness.
  • Withdrawals – Before eisteddfod starts should be emailed to biloelaeisteddfod@bigpond.com, withdrawals during the Eisteddfod should be made to a committee member/marshal as soon as possible.
  • No Competitor may perform more than once in any Solo section
  • No Competitor may perform the same work more than once during the current Eisteddfod
  • Competitors 11 years and over requiring stage props shall be responsible for the placement of these with the help of the marshal in charge of backstage.
  • No Specialized lighting will be permitted.
  • The use of curtains will not be permitted – exception – Groups (Dance)
  • Please enquire at the Biloela Civic Centre 4992 2447
  • The Civic Centre is available for practice – but not during the Eisteddfod
  • Use of stage lights is at an extra cost
  • All Biloela Civic Centre and Eisteddfod Signage Must be strictly adhered to.

STRICTLY NO FOOD OR DRINK IN SOUND BOOTH.

RIGHTS OF COMMITTEE

The committee reserve the right to:

  • Combine Sections where there are not at least three (3) entries in the Section.  No younger entrant would be disadvantaged in this instance.
  • To appoint a substitute Adjudicator should for unforeseen circumstances the appointed Adjudicator is unable to perform his/her duties
  • Disqualify a competitor who, or whose parent, guardian or teacher, in its opinion, has any communication with the Adjudicator during the Eisteddfod unless requested by the Adjudicator.  PLEASE NOTE: As some of our Executive Committee are also parents of competitors, it may be necessary for them to speak with the Adjudicator during or before the Eisteddfod on Eisteddfod business matters.
  • Alter or Amend the program at any time
  • Allocate trophies and prizes where it sees fit.
  • Enforce no late entries
  • Take on board any enquiries, suggestions, complaints or protests can be emailed to biloelaeisteddfod@bigpond.com stating your concerns.  Depending on the situation committee reserves the right to address the situation straight away or take it to a meeting.
  • Ask for proof of blue card to gain access to backstage throughout the Eisteddfod
  • Ask a person to leave the premises if they are deemed to be behaving inappropriately, using abusive language, or being disruptive in the audience.


BANANA SHIRE COUNCIL REGULATIONS

  • Evacuation Plans are displayed throughout the Civic Centre. Please familiarize yourself with Evacuation Procedures.
  • NO items will be permitted which entail the use of such things as sand, water, smoke, fog, dry ice, cream, food or drink, powder, electrical appliances, the lighting of matches, or any other item deemed to be a safety issue on/off stage for effect purposes.
  • Performances are to be restricted to stage use only – jumping off the front of stage to auditorium floor and running up through centre aisle to back of auditorium is strictly prohibited.
  • “NO SMOKING” signs must be observed.
  • “NO PARKING” Signs must be observed.
  • NO FOOD OR DRINK to be taken into the Auditorium, Supper Room or Sound Booth. ALL food and drink must be consumed in the courtyard.
   

ALLOCATION OF BURSARIES, AWARDS, PRIZES and TROPHIES

Bursaries and Awards

Eligibility criteria for Bursaries and Awards can be downloaded from the Web Site – Schedule Page:

  • Music – Instrumental and Vocal
  • Speech and Drama
  • Dance

Entry for Bursary/Awards is automatic – no specific entry form is required.

Aggregate Points are calculated:

1st – 5 pts, 2nd – 4 pts, 3rd – 3 pts, HC – 2 pts, non-place – 1 pt.

There is no restriction on how often a competitor may win a Bursary or Award unless where specifically stated.

Prizes and Trophies:

  • Awarded at the Adjudicator’s discretion.
  • A competitor will not necessarily receive a trophy if the standard is not perceived by the Adjudicator as being high enough.
  •  Adjudication results will be available from the Reception Desk during breaks or at the end of a session.

Perpetual Trophies

  • Perpetual winners will be supplied an envelope in which the Winner will place $10.00 writing the competito’rs name on Envelope. Winner will have photo taken with trophy, and awarded a replica Medallion / Trophy to take home.
  • Under no circumstances are perpetual trophies to be taken home.

Badges

1st, 2nd, 3rd & Participation Badges are also available for purchase at $4.00 each.

Prize winners will automatically receive a badge.
